• TIL is one of the few companies in India with no dependence on external technology partners as it owns 100 pct of its intellectual property. Ownership of the intellectual properties TIL use, ensures full control over technology roadmap and product evolution. They own a portfolio of technologies, including advanced infrared sensors, AI-based computer vision algorithms, low- SWaP optics, free-space optical communications, and high-power microwave systems.
• TIL the largest manufacturer, in terms of sales value, of thermal imaging systems to government and defence agencies in India. In addition, their market share of thermal imaging exports from India was 94 pct in terms of units, positioning them as the largest exporter of thermal imaging systems from India by units shipped between FY24-26.
• TIL’s electro optics and infrared systems is free from ITAR, enabling it to serve non-aligned and export sensitive markets more flexibly, as TIL design and develop products within India, making them one of the few global OEMs capable of supplying cutting-edge technologies without geopolitical export limitations.
• TIL’s key growth strategies (i) Continue to invest in R&D to achieve defence modernization through development of new products (ii) Continue diversification of product portfolio (iii) Pursue strategic partnerships with OEMs and (iv) Increase customer base through expansion into new geographies
• The sales of the company slipped 22.7 pct YoY in FY26 to Rs. 3,626 mn primarily on account of delays in the execution of certain international orders due to disruptions arising from the West Asia conflict, as well as the deferment of certain anticipated orders from FY26 to FY27. EBITDA dropped 24.8 pct YoY to Rs. 1,046 mn while EBITDA margin shrank 83 bps YoY due to higher employee expenses. Profit fell 30.1 pct YoY to Rs. 509 mn in FY26.

• The company is dependent on limited global suppliers for critical components and other raw materials. The scarcity and cost of such critical components and raw materials could adversely affect their business.
• TIL’s business works on a longer gestation period wherein, there is considerable time gap between the receipt of order and the payment, thereby affecting their working capital requirements and profitability of the business.
